DAY 1 // SJO INTL AIRPORT – SAN JOSE

Arrival at the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). A Swiss Travel representative will meet and greet you upon arrival and will provide you with all the necessary documentation that you will need during your vacation, such as day by day itinerary, contact information and phone numbers. Then, you will be transferred to selected hotel in San José, which is approximately 20 minutes away -driving distance-

DAY 2 // SAN JOSE – ARENAL VOLCANO Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

At mid-morning, the journey starts to the northern lowlands of Costa Rica, where the major attraction is the Arenal Volcano. The tour begins with a climb up to central volcanic mountain range, being inevitable a visit to the famous artisan town of Sarchí, which is the perfect place to find those souvenirs and gifts for your family and friends. Then continue to Arenal Volcano where you will explore the richness of the area that surrounds the majestic volcano while hiking along beautiful trails, being able to observe, from up-close all the beauty of the flowers, plants, trees and animals that have this rainforest as their habitat. After that you will enjoy a delicious lunch. During the afternoon, you will visit the world famous Tabacón Hot Springs. These natural hot springs features a hot river that flows through a series of pools. From cascading falls to tropical gardens, the hot springs are the result of rainwater heated by magma in the Earth’s interior. Once heated, the waters rise to surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky crust; this way, waters become very benefic to your body because of its temperature that helps to relax muscles, clean pores and rejuvenate the skin. Tabacón is a very unique location full of natural jewels that definitely you cannot miss staying at Arenal area. At the end of the tour you will enjoy dinner at the resort and then you will be transferred to your selected hotel in Arenal Volcano where you will stay three nights.

DAY 3 // ARENAL VOLCANO Breakfast & Lunch

Today, you will enjoy a full day tour discovering the nature wonders of the northern wetlands. The tour consists of a floating safari tour where our experienced guides will show you the different species of animals that habit in this area. The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge together with Río Frío is a biologically wetland area, one of Costa Rica’s richest areas of biological diversity. Here, you will find a great variety of resident and migratory birds, three different species of monkeys, iguanas, sloths, turtles, and caimans. You will definitely enjoy it! For the afternoon return to the Arenal Volcano selected hotel for overnight.

DAY 4 // ARENAL VOLCANO Breakfast & Lunch

This morning it’s programmed the visit to Arenal Vida Campesina. Enjoy a guided journey thorough out the Arenal Vida Campesina property where you can appreciate traditional and non-traditional cultivations and take part in activities like milking a cow, making tortillas, and gathering of vegetables from the vegetable garden, cultural activities as the milling of sugar cane, typical dances and collecting water from our handmade well. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the environment by sponsoring and planting a tree in danger of extinction and enjoying a typical, organic lunch made with products harvested from the property and cooked on a wood stove.

DAY 5 // ARENAL VOLCANO – NICOYA PENINSULA Breakfast

Descend from the northern plains to the Pacific coast, crossing Nicoya Gulf on a ferry before arriving at your beach resort on the pristine Nicoya Peninsula. Four nights stay at selected hotel. The Nicoya Peninsula is home to some of the most pristine and beautiful Beaches of Costa Rica; Santa Teresa, Malpais and Quizales are magical destinations, where natural beauty and peaceful bliss always reign together with lots of beach fun, surfing, swimming, snorkeling and more. Nicoya seems to have its own culture and ways; there is a distinctive feel to it as one travel through the exotic little rural towns, their cowboys with their herds. Nicoya Peninsula 1 DAY 6, 7 & 8 // NICOYA PENINSULA Breakfast Days at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel grounds, the beach and even consider on taking an optional (extra cost) day tours in the area.

DAY 9 // NICOYA PENINSULA – SAN JOSE Breakfast

This day cross the mountains that surround the Central Valley on your way back to San José. Upon arrival, enjoy a last night at leisure to do some shopping, dine out at one of the city’s fantastic restaurants or do some more exploring on your own.

DAY 10 // SAN JOSE – SJO INTL AIRPORT Breakfast

According to your flight itinerary, it is scheduled the transfer from selected hotel in San Jose to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), to board your flight back home.
