A superior travel stroller: The one that parents in Club bébé voyage rave about is the BabyZen Yoyo which folds up small enough that you can stow it in an overhead bin on a plane! No more worrying about whether or not you’ll get your stroller back when you disembark!
A great baby carrier: My personal favorite is the ErgoBaby because we’ve used it from birth (with the newborn insert) up until our little one weighed 25 lbs (12 kg). We can still use it for shorter walks or hikes, but he’s getting quite heavy which is why we’re considering one of these…
Child carrier hiking pack: As baby gets bigger and as we get more ambitious about hiking and trekking, we’d love to get an external frame pack in order to get a bit more support for carrying our little guy around… at least until we can get our own sherpa!
Car seat caddie: This is a must-have for when we have to travel with our baby’s car seat. Basically, we just add wheels to the car seat and can roll it around the airport. This is especially great for when we have an extra seat on the plane and can use the car seat in the plane.
Good diaper changing grab bag: When you’re on the go, there’s nothing more annoying than rummaging through your diaper bag for the cream, the wipes… and where did the diapers go? Club bébé voyage member Amal recommends this diaper change grab bag which she just throws into her carry-on, tote bag or backpack.
Pop-up sleep tent: Whenever we travel, we take this Deryan pop-up travel tent for our baby to sleep in. It’s super easy to set up, light weight and compact. And it’s keeps out all the bugs and mosquitoes which is great for us because there are plenty of mosquitoes where we travel.
Easy set-up Pack’n’play/camp cot/ travel crib: There’s nothing more annoying than a travel crib which is difficult to set up and heavy to carry… which unfortunately most are. But we once borrowed this light Baby Bjorn travel crib from friends, it made us wonder why they’re not all as light and easy to set up as this one.
Booster seat/ travel high chair: Just because we had a baby, doesn’t mean that we stopped going out to restaurants. Unfortunately, they don’t always have a high chair, so we always bring this Munchkin booster seat along. It’s even got a compartment underneath where we can stash his baby food.
A smartphone with lots of memory for photos and videos: Now that we have a baby, we’ve become a lot more obsessive about using the photo and video features on our phones, so we’re always maxing out our memory… right when we want to take a photo of bébé in front of a great landmark! So we’re definitely going to need to upgrade to a smartphone with as much memory as possible.
Audible subscription: And we’ll try to save a bit of memory on our phones for some audio books… just in case the baby (finally) falls asleep on our laps in the middle of the long plane ride in the perfect position to make it impossible to hold a book.
Now that you know what to ask Santa or Hannukah Harry for, here’s a great gift idea for your family members: take all your travel photos and turn them into a calendar on Shutterfly. The grandparents and aunts and uncles love the one we made last year so much that we’re making them another one this year!
